get a texas coral snake. you don't need tank full of water to care of them. just a water bowl will do fine. they do like to hide in leaves, wood, and mulch. they're a nocturnal species and closely related to cobras. they also like to eat other snakes. they are highly toxic and should be handled with care. don't forget red and yellow killed a fellow
So sad that he died because his habitat was NOT properly set up. Not even a wet soily area for him to rest on just some log. Dirty stagnant water with crusty ass leaves lol, at least you tried but you didn’t properly research the habitat and animal if we wanna be real about it. There’s several tests you need to run on that water for it to be perfect for the snake. And a whole different bio set-up.
Reach out to some aquarium channels and brainstorm about a future setup. As much as this is about handling and keeping snakes. In this case it is more about the aquarium setup.
I am so late in commenting on this video. I've been behind on watching UZload lol. I'm not sure what research has been done on why these snakes cannot be kept in captivity. So forgive me, I'm not educated on snakes which is why I love your channel, I learn about them through your videos. Anyway, I have a hunch it is the water quality that is the problem. Such as specific minerals and/or bacteria that may be needed to keep them alive. Maybe that's something to look into!
Don’t sad it’s want to die we can’t do anything
It's awesome to see how much you care. Your friggin awesome
I am amateur at best so I couldn’t say for sure, but aren’t are coral snakes red pattern attached to the yellow and not black areas? I was always taught that’s how to identify the poisonous corals from the false ones. Red against black, poison does lack, red against yellow kills the fellow...
God will be there to help you in ur sad hard TIME..R.I.P BEAUTIFUL SNAKE SO SO SORRY..
So so sorry to hear this...prayers are with you all
Most people that watch this channel are so uneducated and naive you just want view you do not care for the safety of others
Love the channel but reptile experts have had this specie(s) for years and they are okay. You drowned the snake they have thrived with water and land not only water.
😂 it’s 6 am it’s hard not falling asleep sorry!
Hey what if you get another one and make a big pond for it see if that works I know your tank was obviously big enough you know what your doing I’m not saying your doing anything wrong I’m just suggesting something it’s so sad I wish you could be the first to keep them in captivity live your vids
Dude I am really sorry for the lost it of your snake.
You tried your best, there was nothing more you could have done. It‘s really sad - she is such an beautiful snake 😢 some animals just aren‘t made for captivity 🤷🏻♀️ you really did your best - it was a wonderful habitat 👍
Most People don’t really understand how hard a blow it is when your snake dies! I had a beautiful irian jaya carpet python called “stan the man“ . I hope you feel better soon chandler 👌
I feel bad when ever an animal dies😢
Hi Chandler, first of all sorry for your loss. Please can you describe the banding's of this snake as I always thought red next to yellow kills a fellow... red next to black you're ok jack... Trying to find a coral snake on google images with red next to black
This sucks, sorry bro. Didn't know about the front fangs!?!?? Or that the sequence of the color bands differs from our Corals in the states. Are the native coral snake front fanged too?
I am obviously a novice yet looking at his pattern isn’t it an abnormal pattern for a coral snake? I always thought Red Touch Black...friend of jack; red touch yellow...kill a fellow! Is this a normal type pattern here? Truly I’m curious?!?!? None the less, sorry for your loss Chandler. 😢
Shoving an air line and heater in a tank is not a specialist setup. It's exactly what every keeper who has unsuccessfully kept this species will have done as a bare minimum. I get that you have an excess of hubris but surely even you can see that repeating that cycle of thinking was only going to end one way?!
So did Carl not have like a land space like I know he's like by creeks and stuff but like shouldn't he have have like a bigger enclosure where there's like land and then like a creek I mean was he just like suspended above water basically on a branch I know a mangrove snake would probably do good in that but shouldn't he had like land I seen those before like on UZload in the wild and they were like on land by a creek you know I don't know what I'm talking about but it just seems like they should have had some land and a creek not like suspended above and trees like a mangrove snake I didn't think they really climb trees that's just my two cents but it seems awfully weird for him to not have like land and then a water area I just wouldn't think that would be good for that snake.....?
That is NOT a coral snake.
It’s an aquatic coral snake
Uh yeah it is
rip 🙏 Carl 🐍
Is there a way to do an autopsy and find the cause of death so you can maybe change what ever killed him? Also im so sorry, he was a beautiful snake
I’m going to miss Carl!! 😭 He was my favorite snake
I see quite a few people say that Carl wasn’t a coral snake since “red touch back friend of jack, red touch yellow kill a fellow” and I just want to say please don’t rely on that! It only works on a few species, all US iirc.
Can I ask a potentially stupid question? Wgars the difference between king snakes and coral snakes? I always thought coral snakes had blaack heads and "yellow on red" patterns Meanwhile kings had red heads and "red on black". Can someone elaborate? So, I know this is an Aqua coral snake, but kings and aquatic corals kinda look the same to me. And the old "friend of jack/dead fellow" saying seems to not include these fellas
R.I.P FROM INDIA😔😔😔🤧🤧🤧
Sorry for the loss of Carl.
Bruuuuh, no more t-shirts?!!?! 😅
Its most likely a water quality issue that killed this little cutie. Chandler used tank water from an established tank but the only issue with that is that the beneficial bacteria is mostly on the filter media in that tank, not the water column. I really hope you see this comment Chandler, try getting a large sump type filter with the out and in pipes on opposite ends to replicate a very slow creek water movement, give the tank 6 weeks to properly cycle with a harty animal like the snapping turtle and check water parameters to make sure the nitrogen and ammonia cycle is done and also if you look at pics online these guys like to get out and curl up on dry muddy/mulchy soil at times so maybe have a floating island he can do that on and I bet these things plus a meal right after getting him there in the tank and he'd thrive and you'd be the 1st person to keep one alive
Yeah he needed some more land I think that enclosure was just too small to get his habitat to what he needs to be able to thrive he needed a tank like three times the size of that weather could be like a creek and a creek bed and land and fish and everything I think I was too small of a set up and he was just pretty much jammed up in the water the whole time and then at the water quality was an issue on top of him constantly being in the water I could see that overall being a big problem I definitely needed like a tank 5 times the size of that lengthwise or he could have put everything in their land and all that to replicate a better habitat I don't think they just set on a stick in the Water by a creek and a tank surely he would have seen that as being an issue like the snake needs like land and a hide and stuff I'm pretty sure that Carl never ate right I don't see him eating in those conditions or I don't know I just the whole setup doesn't seem right to me obviously LOL that sucks Bubba
Your logic is spot on. Sounds like a good lab plan
Just commenting for activity so Chandler sees this.
You should get a shadow box and get a taxidermist to help place him so you can forever see him
Hi Chandler, have you seen the guy that's had one like yours? He seems to be thriving great uzload.info/fun/rZ2HrXm80Gp7vWQ/video That's his, you should check him out
You literally knew coral snakes cant live in aquariums bro, You said it yourself
I'm terribly sorry about Carl Chandler I wish the coral snake could have lived in captivity
Sorry for your loss of such a beautiful creature. But I can’t believe no one else that I’ve seen has hasn’t noticed one thing. It’s not a coral snake. The black and yellows bands are touching. Remember red and black friend of jack , red and yellow kill a fellow.
Garrett Dodson no no no no no! Do NOT rely on that nursery rhyme. That is only true for a few species, all of which are native to the US. Please don’t perpetuate this rhyme, it’s deadly.
Rest In Peace Carl Rip
Are you going to get a new one
Red against black a friend of Jack. Red against yellow kill a fellow. But look at that Carol, Kevin's aquatic coral snake, sporting two yellow bands on black. I had known that the old snake rhyme has exceptions but this is the first glimpse of one. It is sad Carol passed Kevin and I thank you for your videos. Peace.
You gave me a heart attack when you stuck your hand in Thanos home 😂 rip Carlos. You did everything you possibly could! ✨ hopefully one day it'll be a success
Sorry for your loss. Carl was a beautiful snake! RIP Carl. 🐍
I'm sorry Chandler for your lost I'll send prayers for you and carl
The snake in the thumbnail is a type of milksnake though right? Red on black friend of jack. Red on yellow’ll kill a fellow?
No! That rhyme is not a good rule of thumb for anything other than US coral snakes.
Should we be happy that it was not Kevin the king cobra but srry fo your lost one
Umm questioning on the fact that could breathe it in that specific Bandung? Because of coral snake is red on yellow that I've always known. Everybody knows that old saying red touches black you're okay Jack meaning a milk snake
No! That rhyme only works for US coral snakes
Bryan, Dingo and you are the best channels. Pay attention.
I don’t like animals like that and I wanna cry
Ya did your best Chandler, Carl's time was cut too short, hopefully the coral thrives in its natu. habitat. Feed'em to Kevin as a positive ending
You should check out serpa design on UZload before you build your next bio active setup
How did he die 😱😨😰😢😥😓😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Red touching black you're a lucky jack. Red touching yellow you're a dead fellow. I obviously have that saying screwed up
I’m sorry chandler
Dam I was digging his new setup and it was gonna be enough... They remind me of great whites being how man can't keep them in captivity........... I wonder why some animals can't stay alive in man-made conditions.... ?
R.I.P. Carl the coral snake. U have my respect
Tough loss man, what is that guitar soundtrack? Very powerful😰
That’s so sad I loved his pattern
Did you soak all that wood elsewhere to leach out any toxins? I had some Azalea root that I put into one of my aquariums and it killed my fish.
Feed it to Justina. 🐍🐍🐍
im sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss brother
Oof. RIP Carl the coral snake.
Awwww! So sorry, Chandler. He was a pretty boy. RIP.
Who'd have known that putting an extremely fragile species in a freshly thrown together uncycled aquarium could possibly have gone wrong! What a horrific waste of an animals life.
I'm so sorry Carl is a hard snake to have
I’m really sorry about your snake but like wtf is ur hair Chandler
I’m sorry dude
Can you make video about dinosaurs?
I'm sorry for your loss :( . You tried your hardest. Hopefully this can encourage you to try again at some point though!
I'm so sorry Chandler,😭💜 love you buddy stay safe! You really tried your very best!!
how is comparing a young coral snake to a 15 year old dog relevant?
so sorry to hear about carl bro, rog ny
Get a Blue Coral Snake to replace Carl.
I'm from Brazil (sorry for the bad english) and I never saw a coral in the water. I don't think they live in water, Chandler. They live hidden in between leaves and tree trunks. Sorry for your loss.
Amazonian creek taxidermy to honor him.
Damn rip Carl the aquatic coral snake he was one of my favorite snakes :(
For your next rattlesnake you should get a eastern massasauga rattlesnake
Oh I thought he was called thanos cuz he’s a snapping turtle and thanos snap
My first snake passed away, her name was venus, RIP And RIP carl
Please help me.... I thought coral snakes the red touches yellow that's the difference from milk snakes. I thought red touches black is a friend of jack(milk snake) and red touches yellow will kill a fellow (coral snake)?
Was he feeding on the special fish you brought in?
